If you are visiting my profile, I would like you to look at the first entry for my recent trip, dated 3 November 2007 before you leave my blog. I recenlty completed a cycling trip through India and I am just working through my shots on a day by day and sometimes place by place basis. At the end, I will compile an entry of my favourite shots. Even if you don't feel like going through the whole trip with me, I would really like people to see my best shots and what the most significant entries.

My first trip to India was two years ago and most of the earlier shots in my blog are from them. It would be nice if people looked at them from time to time, so if you are interested in seeing pictures of Kashmir and Ladakh, please go back to the beginning of my photoblog.

Camera: Canon A700. Its the best i could afford.

I wish the lens quality was better but i might be misjuding it for camerashake.

All the early indian pictures are taken with a Canon A75 which is a little bit older than the A700 I used on my second trip. My criticism is the same but otherwise the A700 has a few advantages over the A75. Otherwise its a similar camera.

Back from my second India trip. I think much of the blur is camerashake but also a dirty lens. I can't get it clean.

#1 and #6 are the best but the last one is fun. He looks like a lion in it.

Lucky you to doing this. Are you studying now to become a photojournalist or journalist?
I originally went back to school with the idea of being a photojournalist but I think I'm a pretty average photographer at best, and I've gotten much more attention for my writing and theoretical knowledge, so I'm now here to continue and pursue a PhD in something like Media Studies. I would like to be part of an independent news blog (perhaps my own) where my photos and writings are both contributed. I hope this shoot leads to others, it was fun!

I quite like #1, #2, #3.
Might be off topic but
What is Gauguin saying? I don't understand the second sentence, or how it relates to the first. It does sound nice though. But what does he mean?
Thank you :)
I don't think it off topic at all - basically, my interpretation of Gauguin, and indeed, in why I relate it to my post, is that when you see something happen in the real world, your art reflects it, if you feel a connection or an understanding with it. So, I saw the leaves trembling in the cool wind, felt myself tremble with it, and once the photos had been done, I wondered what things I saw would look like if they moved the same way... in essence, it really boils down to what you see... and how you choose to see it... I think you can take from it whatever meaning you like... and place upon what you see, whatever meaning you feel most appropriate.
LOL
That probably makes no sense at all!! hehehehe

A lovely set. Great colour scheme. My favourites are #10 and #11, and some others lower down. They should number them, to make if easier for us, shouldn't they. (like they do when enlarged.)
Nice sharp snaps. I wonder what lenses/camera you use.
Thank you for comment!!

The fire shots are wonderful. I hope you get to do some more. The first one is great but I also like the first one with fireside kids.
thank you!
