Christchurch Bumpkin Pumpkin Festival 2007- Little River
2007.10.11
What a pumpkin can be?
A smiling face, a telephone set, a doll, a spider, an elephant, a teapot, a halloween witch and pumpkin pies / soup, the children’s decorated pumpkins in Pumpkin Festival demonstrated you some original ideas, even though the pumpkin growing season did not fulfil expectations.
The annual Pumpkin Festival in Little River, 45-minute drive from Christchurch city, hold on 25 March 2007, following ANZAC morning event.

Local parents prepared one of the best pumpkin soups and the pumpkin pie was a sell out.
The children’s races were a big fun with families' applause, such as a run with bare feet and a race with an egg.
Little River School Support Group raised a record profit NZ$4000 for the school. The Fire Service and St Johns ambulance also attended this community event in case any emergencies happen.
