Green-lipped mussels, native to New Zealand where they are farmed on suspended ropes in the Pacific ocean. It's rare to find the wild green mussels on rock.

The New Zealand green mussel is distinguished by its large (8-10 cm long), bright green shell.

Be aware - each person is allowed by New Zealand fishery law to collect only maximum 25 wild adult mussels each time.
