Catalan Kiwi Party in Delta de l'Ebre, Spain 2008

2008.01.12
The Delta de l'Ebre, such a wonderful place!! Like at the Avon River estuary in Christchurch, wearing our paua-shell pendents, pukeko handbags, New Zealand fern jackets, or socks... a kind of ceremony for us to meet our friends or Catalan Tangata Whenua (people of the land in Maori language)... or who had put new roots here as well. The Catalan teacher who took part in 2007 2Ways English and Culture Programme in Christchurch, New Zealand meet 2Ways staff, a new opportunity to keep alive their kiwiana feeling.

Lluisa (left) picks the fresh lemons from her garden and shares with other teachers who attend the Catalan Kiwi Party.

12 out of 20 Catalan teachers who participated in 2Ways Aotearoa English and Culture Programme in July 2007, along with their family members and 2Ways staff - Amelia and Ellen, 24 in total, enjoy the Catalan Kiwi Party.

Without family support, English teachers (such as Vichi, the second from left and Victoria, the fourth from left) could not enjoy as much as they did and take this oportunity for their career development programme in New Zealand - antipode of Spain.
