The colourful floral carpet is about 20 meters long, made of fresh flowers and plants.

The beauty of the flowers and plants is the glory of God.

What a flowery indulgence - dressing up a flower-patterned skirt, sitting back on a flower-decorated chair, moistening lips from a floralized teaset, accompanied by a sweet flower muffin. It is more than an afternoon tea in Christchurch Cathedral Square.

In 2004, Flower Festival was natually merged with Romance Festival.

Rose Garden in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens is another must visit.

Bees are the busiest visitors during the Festival of Flowers.

Not all beautiful things are useful. On the contrary, some of them are harmful. Poisonous Plants display in the Botanic Gardens is a great education opportunity to have a look at both unusual and very common plants that are poisonous to both humans and animals. Doctor Nightshade, Belladonna and Dwale also present the twisted tale of poisonous plants, death and murder at the Deadly Night Show, 10pm and midnight.

New Zealand is a nation of potato lovers: 97% of us eat them and 54% of us dine on them four or more times a week. Believe it or not.
