Happy Deepavali - Diwali marks the start of the Hindu New Year in Christchurch Cathdral Square on 22 November 2008.

Diwali is known as the "festival of lights", the most significant spiritual meaning is "the awareness of the inner light" leading to universal compassion, love, and the awareness of the oneness of all things (higher knowledge).

Wanna know Indian culture? You've got to know Indian food first.

There are about 5000-6000 Indian migrants living in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Curry and chilli are secrects of Indian cuisine.

It is worth queuing up for the authentic Indian dishes.

The crowds are attracted by Indian arts and crafts.

A group of young Indian men cannot stop themselves dancing with the performers on the stage.

But they are forced to step aside by the security staff.
