Culture Galore, an annual community event that celebrates the colourful cultural diversity, hold on on Saturday 14 March 2009 at Ray Blank Park, Christchurch, New Zealand.

One out of four New Zealanders is born overseas.

Over 50 ethnic groups perform their traditional culture on the stage, range from Egyptian belly dancers to traditional songs and dances from Sri Lanka, China, Indonesia, Korea, Philippines, Bangladesh, Peru and Fiji.

Ray Blank Park becomes a melting port on the day of Culture Galore. It's hard to say who are in the absolute majority - European, Maori or Asian descents.

'Bienvenue' - Welcome to French culture and language in Christchurch, New Zealand, thousands of miles away from France.

The painted clay figurines are hand-made by a Chinese artist on the spot.

Pacific Trust Canterbury focuses on education and advocacy of Pacific islanders' welfare.

PlainsFM(Christchurch Community Radio) POD – a portable recording touch screen booth where people can record their personal stories.

Culture Galore is going green in a bid to promote sustainability throughout Christchurch. All food stall holders use biodegradable products throughout the event. All the materials used to eat the delicious selection of foods on offer, will be recycled after the event to ensure there is no waste.

A dozen of police with different cultural backgrounds are working closely with the local community in Christchurch.

New Zealand Police is well known for their openness and friendlyness without carrying guns.

Indian-Fijian tempt their senses and delight their tastebuds with the huge array of exotic smells and flavours to sample and purchase throughout the day.
