Nacho Homs Gonzalez, 17 years old, from Catalonia, Spain took part in 10-week Adventure Education in Christchurch high school from July to September in 2007.
English Study
Sitting beside Kiwi high school students, during the study of 4 academic subjects in English language chosen from maths, geography, economics, computer, PE, music, home economics, chemistry, biology, information processing), Nacho improved his English pretty fast.
Homestaying with English speaker family and a wide range of the local community activities he got involved in also contributed to his English improvement.
Adventure Activities
With an adventure coach's supervision, Nacho enjoyed trekking, orienteering, skiing, rocking climbing, caving, camping, picnic and mountain coffee. Bungy jumping and jetboating in Queenstown were no doubt the best challenges he had ever taken.
International Friendship
Not only with Kiwi buddies, Nacho also established a strong friendship with his classmates from Germany, Italy and Brazil through adventure education programme and going out together at weekends.
