Beauty Is Only Skin Deep!.......Say What?

What a superficial world we humans have created!

Supposedly, "Beauty is only skin-deep, but ugly goes all the way to the bone!"

That coupled with a saying that floated around my high school, "What do you get when you 'work your fingers to the bone?'...'Boney Fingers!'", leaves me with one major "bone to pick!"

If there is someone out there who thinks that he/she has the divine right to judge the beauty or character of another human being simply by assessing what is observable without the courtesy of verbal interaction, then when the blinkin' insanity did Jesus run off and make you "Bruce Almighty"?

Back in the 1960's a great American, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., gave testimony that he anticipated a day when individuals would not "be judged by the color of their skin (This can be easily applied to any external characteristic,) but by the content of their character."

Amen to that, Brother!

Real Beauty lasts throughout Eternity!

So, the next time you meet a Senior who has ridden this "Solar Merry-Go-Round" a few more times than you have, and you're tempted to recoil from the markings of Life's merciless whip, Just remember that the package rarely does justice to the wisdom & beauty inside.

Middle-Aged Men tend to become philosophical about life! "Hello! My name's Stan!" :)

That in itself is the biggest reason that I have begun to think deeply about the aging process, and I'm beginning to come to terms with it like this!

The LORD in His wisdom has to make us become uncomfortable with our current phase of Life before we are willing to seek the next place of maturity into which He wants to lead us.

Bottom Line? Who is the superficial, self-absorbed human among us who would leave his or her Mom's womb with its "lifetime" of effortless food/water/refuse services coupled with a waterbed in which we can sleep whenever we choose, if we didn't grow so big that our "quarters" started to feel a little cramped?

By the same token, who among us would choose to leave this corporeal life lived by Terran Time (i.e. Eternity's Womb,) if the Creator didn't continue to create by chipping off the Earthly clay of Flesh...one little piece at a time?

Have you ever wondered about the wisdom of taking a Mud Bath? It's no great stretch of the imagination!

We always feel better when we can poke the missing pieces of the jigsaw puzzle in their places! :)

Always look for a smile on the face & light in the eyes of a Time-worn body! A beautiful person will be born for the last time when we reach for a Kleenex to gather our tears. :)
