So many emotions...So Few Hours in a Day!

2007.04.23

"I don't know how I feel today, Daddy, but I love you!"

"Thank you, Little Lady! That works for me!" :)

One child...Many moods! One Daddy with an itchy camera trigger finger who spends a great deal of time learning PhotoShop Elements 4.0!

One Mommy who really likes cats, and who even likes to have her picture taken, but "not while I'm wearing the ball cap, Stan!"

"It doesn't matter, Lady! You're pretty anyway!" :)

777STAN As I promised in a private message recently, this blog page includes a before & after process of digital editting.

#1 is a composite of #2-#4. #3 is the anchor photo.

Into #1 I placed #2 and used the rectangle marquee tool plus the magic eraser tool to "whittle down" to mostly just Shanna with some flecks of grass environment around her to marry up with the background. Finally, I used Free Transform to place the second photo of Shanna behind the one in the background.

As a last step in compositing I ran through the cycle again with photo #4, then while still separate layers I adjusted the contrast & brightness in order to make the lighting look similar on all three versions of Shanna-Joy.

Finally, I unified the layers, cropped to current format, resized it small (approx. 985x640 pixels) and saved for web (approx. 500-800 kb.)

Great FUN! :)

777STAN Correction to my comment: Paragraph three should begin, "Into #3 I placed #2..." with the rest of the paragraph being the same.

777STAN Angela said that she didn't think she could take four cats, and four daughters seemed a bit much to her, too. (We learned on HGTV years ago that odd number make the best groupings.) :)

pattyb I so appreciate Angela's big heart! The fact that she said "think" leads me to believe she could handle it! ; ) Love this processing, what a beautiful effect!! Great job!!
