We are all pretty familiar with the Ten Commandments, but the Apostle Paul was allowed to give [i]the Eleventh to parents.[/i]
In Ephesians 6:1-4, good ol' Brother Paul urges "Children obey your parents in the LORD...for this is right!" We parents just LOVE to "dance" all over that verse, but we too often neglect the balancing commandment that follows to parents, "Fathers, Provoke not your children to wrath!"
If the LORD is anything, He is balanced, and Respect is the highest Rule of Life...Mutual Respect between husband and wife. and Mutual Respect between parent and child.
I have said it before, and I am sure that I will say it many times before I die, "I have learned to respect my little girl because she is the one who is going to choose my nursing home." :}
