Like Mother, Like Daughter

2008.04.03

Angela recently got a new carry-all purse (which if I may be so bold...is a thinly-veiled reference to a portable mountain cave,...complete with rappelling rope, carabiners, and strap seat for those occasions when the husband is called upon to look for "my checkbook" or "that $20 bill next to my keys." O, I almost forgot. There's an additional item I have personally found helpful, the flare gun I use when I can't find my way back out.)

As we left the house one day Shanna stood next to Angela with her purse on her shoulder...same side as Mommy! As any good photographer would do, I raced back inside for my camera. When I got back outside, they were no longer "twins," like Danny & Ah-nold.

Angela attempted to help the situation quickly so we could leave, but every time she put her purse on the left shoulder, Shanna would put it on her right. So, Angela tried to quick change to right, and Shanna went left,...and again, and again...You get the picture!

That's where she started to laugh! It just started to be comical...

They say that kids are a "chip off the old block," but if it's all the same with everybody...I would rather she be more like a photocopy because my block needs all it's chips! :}

Madoc Oh!...These two are so beautiful together...
Little Shanna is so cute!
Very nice that you got back inside to get your camera to snap that great scene.
I love how you appreciate the beauties of simple life.

Carley Well, Stan, I think you've got your little photocopy! Look at the position of their hands and arms! BTW, I'm ignoring your description of Angela's purse. And I'm wondering if you have been talking with my husband, Phil. You 2 are sound a lot alike at the moment!

Hi, Angela!

777STAN Thank You, All! You are so right! I am so blessed to have two consistently great subjects! :)

Dear Carley, You have no worries (as you already know) when I tease, like this, about women's purses, but I have to tell you that there are few things more frightening to a man than being requested to go spelunking through a woman's purse in search of something that requires a homing device powered by estrogen!

O, and then there's that other thing they do...

Stan: "Lady, I gotta go! Have you seen my car keys?"
Angela: "Come to think about it, I have. Look on the bar behind the lamp!"
Stan (after a half hour of looking): "Lady, would you please put my keys in my hand?"
Angela (Enters, Reaches, Picks Up, Puts into my Hand as a kind act of friendship): "See? They were here all the time!"
Stan: "I never questioned your word...I simply have this little problem that when I'm in a hurry my ability to find things shuts down. Now that we've established that fact, would you please just help me to 'cut to the chase' when I need to go somewhere?"
Angela: "It would beeeee, Myyyy Pleasure!" :)
Stan: "Thank You so much! I love you!"

Thanks for bearing with me as I gave you the "Leave It To Beaver" version of what actually happens. (Sorry, Ladies! It's called "saving face!" and believe me You want me to save all the face I can.)

Just a male viewpoint as a service to the community. Just ask the man in your life if he would like for you to "throw him a bone" occasionally. You might find him willing to return the favor... :}
