Yesterday, during the Sunday afternoon matinee, I enjoyed the lovely musical, "On Dragonfly Wings."
It's the kind of play that makes a man glad he's not a woman...because wet mascara can quickly make one look like a dragonfly himself. I either blubbered or was on the verge of tears throughout the whole more-than-two hours.
The music was great! (As Annelise, our family friend, sang I kept thinking of the first time I saw
The Little Mermaid in a theater because Annelise reminds me of the singer,
Jodi Benson.)
The story line struck a chord with me since my life has been a series of misadventures these past few years, and I am just as human as anybody else being tempted to believe that I have done something wrong to warrant such distress.
Yet, no worries about me! I have, also, learned that difficulty is often just as much (if not more) a sign that the LORD is pleased with your service...as it could be a sign of displeasure or punishment.
Bottom Line: "On Dragonfly Wings" was written as a response to actual grief in the life of a family in Hawaii whose dear little daughter died of a terminal illness...as I was informed just yesterday by Amy, the Mother of the lead actress.
