Grrrrreat shots, I really like how the texture of the petals stands out so well in the lighting you've used in these. And the yellow of the pollen thing (technical term there) really stands out against the red in these.

Scrolling down, I was thinking that your hibiscus shots are probably among your best. Now I see why! Gorgeous!

Thanks so much, Guys! These were taken under optimal conditions...cloudy, but still very light! The amazing thing to me is that the the bush is still in the old ugle black container from Lowes because I haven't figured out where I want to plant it yet! These photos are great examples of why hibiscus bushes are probably some of the easiest/low-maintenance plants you will ever own,...providing that you live in an area with hot, muggy summers. (They don't always have a have a lot of water at the roots, but they always have to have a lot of water on the leaves. In a word, HUMIDITY-the higher the better-makes the hibiscus a bascially self-sufficient plant. They really even 'dead-head' themselves because the blooms 'fall-off' when they'r through being beautiful. Sometimes all I have to do is just twist the bloom stem 'at the nuckle' slightly and it pops right off.)

Thank You for noticing! The last photo has been edited in Photo Shop Elements 6.0, using a second layer in High Pass filter at 10.0 pixels width and blended with Overlay! Digital Darkroom Work is so fascinating! Thanks for enjoying it with me! :)
