I'm completely bummed. My husband and I had a date planned to go to the Melting Pot last night for some yummy fondue. Naturally, I took along my camera. I had planned to practice some cool low light techniques to see if I could capture something fun for my blog today. I snapped this picture in the waiting area before we were seated. I was trying to get a cool silhouette feature going. I turned off my camera and put it away. Then I saw a cool lighting fixture that I wanted to capture. I pulled my baby back out and turned her on to find a CF error on the back. Isn't that bizzare? Literally 3 minutes apart. At least I got one picture for my project. God is good.
The point of me sharing all that with you is this. I found a free recovery program last night so if this ever happens to you - don't just reformat your card. Try to recover your images first. It took about an hour and a half but it got almost all of my images back for me including some that I'd previously deleted or moved off the card. Worked like a charm. Here is the link...

The thing that doesn't sit well with me is that this card is only a month old. I have another card made by SanDisk that is two years old and it has never had a problem. This one is made by Lexar and I bought it exactly one month ago. Should I be worried about the reliability of this card in the future?

Thanks for the link! Definitely saving that one. I have two Lexar cards and have never had a problem with either one. Maybe it was just a bad card?
Oh, I haven't been to a Melting Pot in almost 2 years. Now I'm drooling!!!
