I've created a monster.

2008.01.04

Back in August, Webkinz were introduced to my children. At the time they were 2, 3 and 5. It was one of their first ventures into the world of computers and they all loved it. Since then, Mommy had so much fun playing in their Webkinz accounts that Mommy decided she needed her own. Then... Mommy thought about Grammy and how much Grammy enjoys playing some computer games so the children surprised Grammy with a Webkinz of her very own. We all send each other presents and mail in Webkinz world and it keeps my children engaged with their Grammy while they learn about money and computers and my daughter is eager to read so she can understand all the things on the screen. It also means Grammy can spoil them endlessly without actually spoiling them. She sends them gifts for their rooms almost daily. It has been wonderful for our family really.

Since August, we've aquired 24 animals between the five of us.

Yesterday morning, my mother called me to tell me that these animals are running between $13 and $17 down where she is. Yet there is a store near me who is clearing out their selection and is selling them at $10 each. So she asked me to swing by and pick up three for her. My mother is in her 60s and she is asking her 30-something daughter to go buy her three stuffed animals. Is there something odd about that?! All in all, my mother and I had 3 seperate phone conversations about Webkinz yesterday. As in, three times dialing the number to discuss Webkinz. I think that means we are officially addicted.

These are my mother's three newest Webkinz friends.

vollenda That's very cool that they can inspire the kids and that it's something you can share together. :) Plus, they are cute!
