Date Night with my boy

Hubby took our youngest son to his parents house for the weekend so he could pick up our girl. After we met him near his office to give him the boy and the suitcases, my middle son and I went on a mother/son date.

It was *so* much fun. Lucky is the woman who marries this guy. First we went to Bob Evans for dinner (his idea). Afterward, I asked him if he wanted to go shopping at the Outlet Mall. He said he did so we took a walk around. I found a few stores I will be visiting regularly when my kids are in school this fall! I found a fantastic leather purse that will hold my old camera along with my other neccesities at Wilson Leather for $16! The boy got to ride several of those rides that you put a quarter in and the kid rides for a minute and a half. He was thrilled with that. He also got to visit a gumball machine and one shop keeper thought he was so cute she gave him a lollipop. He is darn cute, I must say.

Afterward, we were heading home and he said he wasn't ready to go home yet. I said, "well, we could go to Kohl's if you want." He picked more shopping!! He was just so much fun to go look at stuff with. We didn't buy anything other than the purse, but he was so fun to go window shopping with. On our way home, I told him he's a better date than Daddy! He didn't complain at all and better yet, he actually seemed to be enjoying himself!

Afterward, we went home and I realized we hadn't taken any pictures. (shame on me!) So, we took an arms length self portrait. Then I handed the camera over to my four year old and let him take some pictures. I think he's a natural!

Look at the off-center, in-focus shot he got of me! And he already *gets* the need for detail shots. I'm going to print a couple of his pictures for his own collection in his room. You go son!
