Memory Lane

2008.07.01
My childhood home. So many fond memories here.

The yard I played in as a child. The trees are all gone now though. My parents built a fantastic sunporch and deck only a couple years before they sold that house. My dad built a primo shed beneath the deck too. He can do some great work.

The Fireman save-a-child-in-this-room sticker is still in one of the windows from when it was my bedroom at one point. All of the upstairs bedrooms were mine at some point (other than the Master of course) but this sticker remains in my first bedroom window in that house.

I got to show my kids exactly how far I walked to Elementary School when I was little. I showed my daughter where I'd had my own Kindergarten classroom. Kinda neat to her since she rides a bus and just completed kindergarten. It was sorta lost on the boys.

And directly across the street from my elementary school is the middle school and highschool I attended.

And just down the street is the college I went to where I met their father. I think they need a new sign. That one is looking a little tired, don't you think?

Yes, I went to elementary school, high school and college all within a half mile radius of each other. It was such a diverse area that I still had lots of great experiences that I didn't need to travel for.

Today I had the opportunity to go photograph the children of a dear sorority sister who I hadn't seen in 10 years. She happens to currently live in the area where I grew up. After I photographed her and her kids, I took a stroll down memory lane.
