Class, slides and ducks

2008.08.19

Today we went grocery shopping in the morning and then John dropped me off at a photography class the resort offers. It was a wee bit too basic for me but I still learned a little. One thing I realized is that I can certainly compete and earn some money at this if my instructor can. Not that he was bad but if he can do it, I can too. I guess a confidence boost is worth $40.

Then when the kids woke up from naptime, John met me at the tube slides. We bought tickets for everyone to ride but the two eldest couldn't be bribed to get on the slide. So, our brave little three year old rode with Dad. He was such a trooper! The first time they went down in tandum but the second time he said, "No, Dad. I go alone." Then we went over to the outdoor bounce house and blow up fun fair type toys. The two eldest were in quite a funk and couldn't seem to get in the fun so eventually Dad took them to sit in the minivan to pout there instead of ruining the fun for everyone else. Interesting since this is what they had been asking to do all day. We did get one picture of our eldest son climbing over our youngest on the "stairs" of one of the slides. I guess he wasn't going fast enough or something. We thought it was pretty funny though.

On our way home from dinner, our two oldest were still in their bad mood so I asked John to let me and the little one off at the pond where we had a fantastic mother/son time photographing and watching the ducks. I filled up my 4GB memory card! I had to go through and delete some just to get some more cute shots of my boy on our way back home! Then we went on an adventure as we walked and found our way back home. We ran across golf courses, rolled down hills, watched water fountains and listened for creatures in the woods. It was such fun!
