As I was looking out my kitchen window, I saw this unusual looking spiderweb sparkling in the afternoon light. One thing I've experienced lately is that if I wait to take the picture later, the light will have changed and the opportunity will be gone. I was right - a few minutes later, it would have been too dark to get this shot because the light changed so much so quickly.
It's been fun learning a little more about photography lately. I'm going to learn to shoot in manual mode this coming week. Wish me luck.

Neat web. Try spritzing a little water on the web and shooting close ups with the sun coming from the back, at a angle. (But don't shoot directly into the sun.) You should get a "sparkle" on the drops and the wet strans of the web. This usually looks better in slightly higher contrast B+W.
