Hey, guess what! My husband's grandfather was a baker in Holland during WWII. He hid Jewish friends and neighbors in his bread basket as he rode his bike around in order to hide them from the Nazi's and get them from one safe place to another. Eventually, one of his neighbors turned him in and...
Wow, that is an amazing story. My uncle was the second man in to Dachau, while another photoblogger's father was a captive there. It's such a strange feeling to "meet" someone online like that, where your families have crossed in the past, leaving such deep impacts on both.

Thanks for leaving all the wonderful comments that you did. To answer your questions Split Rock Lighthouse Time was shot using a 4X5 Sinar P2 View Camera, several of my image have been made with this camera, those that were not were made with various Nikon equipment including F3, F5, D2x Bodies and various lenses. I have been shooting professionally for almost 25 years and yes the split rock image has been framed many times. Gosh, if you feel that way and I admire your work so much, it makes me feel bad for the hiatus (please forgive my spelling. I was trying to spell hi-ate-us) recently. At least we both picked up the camera again. It's like therapy for people like us, I guess. I hope to know my way around a cam...
Thank you for your comments tonight. :) I appreciate the thoughts and understanding in them. I bought these spoons at a Gemmel's pharmacy. They have knick knacks for sale and I always find someting interesting like this there! |
