Peche This is a great shot for the words you've written and the question you have posed - it's hard to answer sometimes. I think sometimes subconsciously we choose the illusion because it may offer a gentler reality... in my world, I can say that I try very hard to be conscious of my reality and the reality around me, though sometimes we need to escape that in order to survive, I think.
Thank you for sharing.

photopoet I am fascinated with the question and the image so perfectly meshing. You pose the question so that the viewer must make a selection—both in the photo and in life—"What are you focusing on?" I like to think it's the reality, but I think that sometimes in our society the lines become blurred.

Daryl Excellent image. Vital question. Mankind's challenge is to discover what really is real. What is accepted as reality is often proved, in the light of progress, to be the unreal. Our perceptions, or should I say, misperceptions often limit our sphere of activity more than reality: the earth was thought to be flat; objects heavier than air could not fly. How limiting were those widely held and "scientifically proven" misperceptions! The same principle applies to relationships both personal and international, the economy... Often we do not want to accept reality when we recognise it, as the freedoms it offers seem too daunting. Just getting warmed up... but this is not the place.
