This is a coal fired steam powered locomotive pulling passenger cars into the mountains to Minakami.
People love cameras in Japan!

This is a rice field just after the rice plants have been cut. Now they are bundled and hung to dry.

This is a large resort near the minakami train station with easy access to skiing and hot springs.


This taiko group was all ready for the steam train to arrive with visitors.



Kokeshi dolls are a specialty of the Gunma prefecture.


This is the lodge where they run the canyoning, mountain biking, back country skiing, and caving tours.
It's run by a bunch of kiwis

Canyoning is like going rafting with no raft. Hopefully some of the waterproof camera pictures will turn out and I will add them later.
