Touristing

2008.08.02
Lots of time spent in the back of the bus.

The northern prefectures of Japan grow a lot rice. This time of year the rice is really green and beautiful.

A stop at a casting works.

Back on the bus, cruising though the endless rice fields.

The water was an amazing color that almost matched the ajisai. I wish I would have a had my polarizer for this picture. Oh well.

This is the deepest lake in Japan.

Next we stopped at a preserved samurai village. There were some cool old houses, but mostly we were bored.

Ajisai

Many people fish in the rivers using really long poles to catch really little fish.

On our bus tour we visited the Iwachu iron casting works and lake Towada, the deepest lake in Japan.
