Tree of Life

2008.04.07

I liked how the flash made the raindrops glisten, and the color so vibrant. Night photography can be so fascinating.

This tree was once a branch, snapped from an older tree in my best friend's back yard. I developed a very special bond as I watched it grow into what it is now. To me, it symbolizes friendship, regrowth, resilience, generosity, life, and much more that I can't even put into words.

My dad built and octagonal bench around the base of the tree, and I sometimes sit outside and read in the sunlight, or sit and take pictures of ants. =P

Peche I really like the focus you've used in the last two shots, and the curvature on the leaves... the angle in both is superb, great composition!
The colour is so rich, I agree with you completely. Just last night as I was leaving work very late after an event I had to run, I was thinking how wonderful a texture the night gives everything - this post captures that idea totally.
The idea that you've nurtured this tree to what it is now... you must be very proud of it.
This looks a LOT like the trees I have in my backyard, which, you may have noticed, I tend to like to photograph a fair bit :P Do you know what kind of tree it is?
:)

DawsonSwan Nice, it can be hard to get good night shots of detail like this. Sounds like an awesome place to sit.
