Arcadia Part Four PLUS BIG NEWS

2008.07.15

If some of these seem out of my style, it's because they are. I would have taken macros the whole time, but I was commissioned to take these photos for a magazine. So I was trying to capture what the readers would want to see, rather than what my crazy mind wanted to see, lol [see last entry].

*The Really Big News*
Apparently I was successful because several of my photos were PUBLISHED in the magazine! THESE SIX (plus one more which was a portrait I didn't like at all) were all printed on pages 10-11 of Expressions WGCU magazine, and I am very very VERY VERY excited about it :D

So these were the editor's choice. After seeing the last two entries, you can decide for yourself if this set is actually the best ;P

DawsonSwan Congratulations!!!!
I think I like the photos from the previous post better, (I like crazy macros too hehe) but these probably are much better for advertising and such.
Very interesting choice of depth of field in #1, I would have chosen the front items to be in focus, but it actually works very well with the fuzzy foreground.
I really like your framing choice on #2, it shows your subject very well and it's obvious why it was chosen by the magazine.

happypowder123 WOW! congratulations!! the most i've ever won photography-wise, is that i got 6 pictures printed in my town's calender. and they spelled my name "Wesley Adeir." i'll just tell you that that's NOWHERE close to being my name. so pretty much, you win. :)

i REALLY like the 4th picture, but the 6th is a close second.

GaryCronk You have such a good sense of movement in all of your pictures (as well as composure and lighting and depth)
I really like the way the lamp is off kilter in number four.
Congratulations on getting published
