If you ever find yourself in HKG, make sure you take the 30’ ferry ride to the absolutely gorgeous Lamma Island. I would love to have an extended stay here. The island is just beautiful, the locals are friendly and the food (of course I need to talk about food) is just outstanding. It was just a world away from the hustle & bustle of HKG and I loved the calmness of this place. The one day I left my bathing suit in another bag, I was wishing that I had it with me so I could go swimming. The little beach on my way from one end of the island to the other was a perfect swimming spot. Soft sand, clear water & only a handful of people…what a perfect place to take a dip!

After my little trek from one side of the island to the other (about 1 hour if you don’t stop), my reward was a fresh seafood lunch with an ice cold TsingTao beer. Black bean sauce with clams, spicy sweet and sour prawns…all eaten right by the water. So delicious. I can’t believe I ate all this food by myself and I still feel like I should have eaten more!

Next time, I would love to spend a night on the island b/c it’s just super lovely here. But then there are some many other little islands that are on the list to explore! Can’t wait to make my way back here!
