Basel Badischer Bahnhof
The German Bahnhof at the other end of the city. If you need train tix to Germany, buy them here, it's cheaper. If you're heading to Switzerland, buy your tix from the Basel SBB railway station
That said, I really wanted this ginormous mirror ball thingy...seemed a little odd in a train station. Like...very much so:)

So cool! An ornamental Christmas tree thing made out of test tubes and other glassware outside the
Pharmazie-Historisches Museum der Universität Basel
Okay...so I'm a bit of a science geek!
Had wanted to take a tour of the campus, but probably b/c it was Sunday, couldn't find anyone around. Next time...

Dinner with Irene & Felix in Freiburg
We ate a ridiculous amount of food...we each had half a duck, potato dumpling things (sadly, I had to leave one behind b/c there was no way I could have stuffed that in and there was no take out option available) and other deliciousness that I cannot recall at the moment. Felix was the only one who finished everything on his plate.
We all needed a nap after that meal, but instead we headed around the corner to a pub for beer:) Good times!

Hausbrauerei Feierling
Great beer...need I say more?
I didn't take this photo...Felix did...he wanted to mess around with my camera...well done, love the reflection!
We also had a really extended conversation on whether some photography represented reality b/c there is so much opportunity for post-production work. Even in-process, with digital, we can control so many variables, so is this an accurate depiction of what is in front of you? And how much post-production work transfers a photo into a piece of art?
Yes...deep thoughts for a Sunday evening over beers:)

If my poor brain recalls correctly, this was a lazy Sunday. Which meant museum & market wandering. Meandered around Basel, which I really, really enjoyed and then an evening train to Freiburg.
I had promised that I would visit Irene & Felix before Irene moved home to Vancouver. And I'm so glad that I did. I loved Freiburg, but more of that in my next post.
