Why the hell did it take me so long to watch
Chungking Express?! Considering that
In the Mood for Love is one of my all time fav movies, I have no idea why I haven't seen more of his films. This is one of the most gorgeous films I've ever seen. (Though I wasn't a huge fan of 2046, which is the follow-up to In the Mood for Love)
I absolutely adore Wong Kar Wai's style & the details in his movies. This was no exception. The opening sequence set to Michael Galasso's
Baroque is just outstanding.
I love these opening words from Chungking Express...
"Every day we brush past so many other people. People we may never meet…or people who may become close friends."
Must watch the rest of his films...so lovely!
Photo was from last year in Hong Kong, just outside the infamous Chungking Mansions, where a majority of the movie is set.
