157/365 - Fireworks by the beach

Tonight we journeyed out for some (cold) family night fireworks down at the beach. The council had put on a big night's entertainment to celebrate Queensland Week. Unfortunately it was pretty bloody cold down at the beach, so we stayed for two sets out of the four sessions, then went for ice-cream wafer cones (did I mention it was cold? lol).

I find photographing fireworks can be a little hit-and-miss... Swapping between exposure settings, making sure the camera is still enough for the long exposures (not easy when your freezing)....I wasn't stoked with how most of them turned out, but I was pleasantly surprised by the beach shot I took inbetween firework sessions. They had big night lights rigged up & it made the water & sand light up nicely.
