This quote doesn't so much apply to the pictures today as it does to the day I was having & the challenge that I continually face in my photography.
Sometimes it happens when I have a subject that I want to photograph - like this beautiful Hibiscus that Jake picked for me - I know that I have the ability to capture something unique & creative, it's just seeing with my minds eye what it is exactly that I want to capture, then capturing it.
'Concieving' the vision that I seek to bring out, IYKWIM, that's what can elude me. Right there & then, I have two choices, get frustrated & give up, or push through it, just let whatever-it-is flow & let it take me & see what I can yield.
If I take option 2, which I do more often then not (out of obession with getting it right? lol possibly), something will click & I'll start getting the angle & exposure I want...and finally, I feel satisfaction. This doesn't always happen though, LOL ;)
Do others struggle with this too?
In a way I hope so, because sometimes it can make me doubt my abilities as a photographer. It makes me think, if I have to work too hard at it sometimes, am I pushing what should be coming natural?

#3 is spectacular! So delicate. Really great quote, and yes...we all struggle with it. Probably half of the time I see a photo in my mind and try and try to do it but end up with something completely different. I don't know if I am too lazy, unskilled or what. I guess the journey is what we really have to enjoy. The results are just the icing on the cake, whether they be good, bad or unexpected.

#3 is really great. The detail is amazing, new lens I assume. Wow you do have the steady hand and the good eye for composition.
