There are huge old trees seemingly growing straight out of the rocks

Everything is covered with thick moss

... and there are ferns sprouting everywhere...

and lots of nooks and crannies to be explored and climbed into

Puzzle Wood is a pretty amazing place down in the Forest of Dean, aparently it was what inspired Tolkien to write the Lord of the Rings. You could easily imagine seeing fairy folk fliting about in the undergrowth. The BBC also filmed parts of Merlin in it. It is all very green, dark and mystical, quite lovely!
