I would have loved him to stay on our oak tree and turn in to a chrysalis, so that I could find out what he was, but unfortunately he must have been offended by my poking him and he moved on...

I think a winter geometer caterpillar, pupa this time, the male moth flies october - december months. the female moth has no wings. :) interesting photos!
