my excuse is that we were standing in a force 10 gale in the middle of a soggy field...

This was the grand finale, that happened halfway through, somebody lit the wrong fuse!

It was very grand though!

Before I learnt the story of Guy Fawkes and his plan to blow up the Houses of Parliament, I thought the lead character in this scenario was a fox called Guy... I was further confused by the rhyme that spoke of gunpowder, treacle and the policeman from the Noddy stories... Mr Plod... but hey! I was young and the fireworks were good, so I lived with my confusion quite happily....
