The Stray

We found this pup leaving our back yard as we went out for a walk - none of our neighbors have a brindle boy like this but we thought there might be visitors, turns out he was a stray.

Looked to be pretty healthy and not on the streets for too long but very scared and slightly people aggressive but he didn't mind me acting like a maniac behind him.

Mom tried to secure him in the yard and call the animal cops (oh my!!) but they said they couldn't come until the morning and it was to late to wake up all the neighbors and tell them about the stray in the back yard. So we decided to give him some food and water in the back yard while we went our on walks and when we got back decide what to do about him.

When we got back he had escaped, leaving his collar behind in the back yard. We wouldn't have been able to keep him inside because he was sooo scared and he couldn't stay in the yard because our best neighbors, Baldwin and Stacey had Staceys two oldest kids here this week and they really like animals. We feel so baddd but hope his family finds him anyway (unless his family is why hes so scared of people.) But I can't help but wonder how and why he was in our yard in the first place.
