Recently I realized that I had gone to Canada and not shared the photos with the you guys. Which is a shame because Canada was really wonderful. We went to this lovely valley just North of Grand Portage Minnesota and spent the day.

Mom played a cruel joke on me and told me these were Canadian dogs; so when I tried to talk to them I got all confused and flustered. These goats were kind enough to let me know that they were their accent was goatish and Dutch. Not French-Canadian like I had thought.

They were quite lovely fellows and really enjoyed where they were living (they might have been a little shocked that I was bigger then them). But they told me a bunch about making cheese, which is what they do.

Then we went berry picking and mom brought me out into the fields. I had to stay really quiet and not bother anyone (everyone gave me complements.) But as we were leaving the owner of the farm told us dogs aren't allowed in the fields (they should have told us this first, I would have happily sat in the car with Great-Grandpa.

Instead I got to eat some fresh tasty berries. This valley is pretty unusual for that far that area, it has a great growing season and good soil. A little further south in Minnesota it would be really hard to have farms like these because, in part, of the 'lake effect.'

I really loved Canada! And I would've stayed, especially because the border guard decided that they needed to be really tough on those getting into Minnesota on this day, so we had to wait for like a hour. (We only waited for 3 minutes to get into Canada).

Mum and Dad got married in Canada and they have told me it is a beautiful country, you are very lucky to have seen it first hand Arabella, beautiful photographs, thank you for sharing.
