We like to commemorate events and people on our money.....

This Ten Dollar paper money is dedicated to our veterans and our armed forces .......Canada Remembers

Hockey is the number one winter sport in Canada ......skating skiing tobogganing ice sculpturing ice fishing the list goes on and on for winter things to do......
|
We call our dollar coin a Loonie which has a loon on it......our two dollar coin is called a Toonie which has a polar bear on it......pictures on coins and paper money can change according to what is being commemorated........The colours for paper money generally remains the same for each denomination. Special raised markings (braille) are placed on each bill to aid the blind.
