Day 14 - Passenger

2007.12.20
My paint shop skills are painfully insulting to anyone who really knows how to use it. But obviously I made it to put across a point, not show my talent. I left it small so that you can't see the fake-ness quite as well. The blood is fake but the idea is real.

Its been some time since I thought of doing this, but a few days ago I considered it very heavily, at work, even. It was hard to say no; it always is I guess. But I did, and thats a small victory for me in the end. This is a problem many people are choice-fully uneducated about and unaware of. It needs to receive less negative attention in the world.

Since this is a 365 and not a paint shop endeavor, I posted the original image, too.

This morning I was all full of ideas of things to try. I like what this project is doing to me so far. Of course most of my ideas stemmed from water, a torment for me. I ended up making more of a mess than anything, but I got a few good shots out of it.

Whoops, forgot to cut out the shower handle!

I was going to make the water drops into blood, but decided to stop slaughtering pictures with my lame paint shop skills for the day.

Here I lay
Still and breathless
Just like always
Still I want some more
Mirrors sideways
Who cares what's behind
Just like always
Still your passenger

The chrome buttons, buckles on leather surfaces
These and other lucky witnesses
Now to calm me
This time won't you please...
Drive faster...

Roll the window down
This cool night air is curious
Let the whole world look in
Who cares who sees anything?
I'm your passenger

Drop these down
Then and put them on me
Nice cool seats there
To cushion your knees
Now to calm me
Take me around again
Don't pull over
This time won't you please
Drive faster...

Roll the window down
This cool night air is curious
Let the whole world look in
Who cares who sees what tonight?
Roll these misty windows
Down to catch my breath and then
Go and go and don't just
Drive me home and back again!

Here I lay
Just like always
Don't let me
Go...
Take me to the edge...
