It's national love and/or sex day again. Happy VD Day, everyone! Did you get VD? Yes, I always think of valentines this way. I suppose it doesn't help that John and I don't really give v-day consideration. I don't find it important and neither does he. However, love is highly distorted in the world. For some people all it takes is a big roll of money, great sex, or huge tits/dicks/bodies to find "love." I, however, am more picky. Call me crazy, but I love someone for who they are (or in some cases, who I perceive them to be). I like sex, and I like romance, but I have no patience for stupid or shallow people. I do not think high school romance is cute. I do not think kids in "adult" clothing is precious. I do not think its brilliant to have children's role-models on the covers of magazines dressed like prostitutes. I think the whole world is way too sexually irresponsible.
Since love has been so beaten and fouled, this once love-related holiday must go down with it. Did you know: The CDC estimates that approximately 19 million new infections occur each year, almost half of them among young people ages 15 to 24.
Enough of my ranting. I'm feeling thoughtful today. Art is about opening doors, to life, happiness, inspiration... right? I was thinking that since I so often fail to produce anything worth seeing in my 365, I need to make it worth while. From now on I'm going to pick other people's artwork and link to it here, so that you, too, can enjoy it. Obviously at first a lot of it is going to be that from people I know, or already enjoy. But when I start to feel restless, I'll branch out and look up new people and their art. So, enjoy!
