Taken from a camera phone, we really never realized the extent of the damage until we left New Orleans and saw all the billboards bent over, it was very appalling.

Here are some photographs that, well not haunted me but, was one of the more emotional stories I have covered. Hurricane Katrina. Being in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Long Beach, Ms and all along the coast was quite an eye opener for me. I have covered many hurricanes but this one was different. Both tidal surge and wind damage. It was a mess. Never have I seen so much tragedy and despair but the resilience of the community, that is to be commended.
I wanted to share these pictures, as hurricane season begins and will crank up in August, as a reminder what mother nature is capable of and what father time can heal. Bless all the people of New Orleans, I have a special bond with the people there and always will.. tm

Ted - Somehow I didn't see these before. Very poignant stuff. I particularly love 13 and 14. The sun in the last one interestingly sits in front of the trees - how did it do that? h
