In a win or go home game for both teams, the Marietta Daily Journal asked me to shoot the Mount Paran Christian Academy Eagles at the Bowdon Red Devils game. I had been to Bowdon before earlier in the year to cover the Walker @ Bowdon game.

This was a golden opportunity for Mount Paran to make the playoffs in its very short 4 year history of playing football. Bowdon had been there before as their stadium is decorated with banners from championship games of past.

On the fly, as the tea was leaving the field after pregame warm ups, I asked Eagles head coach Mitch Jordan if I could photograph the team in the locker room before they took the field, thinking they might have a pregame prayer or something. No prayer but a couple of seniors had an emotional talk to the team before they took the field.

It was a back and fourth game, Mount Paran scored early then Bowdon scored to take the lead but the Eagles scored 21 points in the 4th quarter to take the lead and will most likely play Athens Academy in their first playoff game in team history. Congratulations Mount Paran.
