the most perfect day

2009.11.06
Windham and Harper listening to Nana and Poppy telling stories on CD.

I got nervous when I heard silence. I ambled into the living room to find pink bear and baby bunny having a little conversation on the couch.

Because we are having such a lovely day all together, Aubree and I took a deeeeeep breath when Harper announced with great delight and pride, "Look Mama, I made a path!" with the entire roll of tinfoil. Because we are such good mamas, we said, "oh how lovely," and did not gasp with exasperation. Well maybe a small gasp.

Harper brought out the popcorn maker, and Windham started running around and jumping up and down. So we made popcorn in the middle of the day with butter AND truffle oil. And we ate it ALL in about 10 minutes, hand over fist.

Windham feeding the turtle popcorn, but that darn turtle won't keep a hold on his popcorn. Silly turtle.

My beautiful wife and the most wonderful Mama I could have imagined.

Harper's dolling out smooches.

If you could only hear the lovely whale and dolphin and kookoo bird-like sounds coming out of her mouth...

Harper's latest trick is to shove as much popcorn in her mouth at once as humanly possible, just like Mommy eats it. Why waste your time with ONE kernel at a time?

Silly noodle.

the last 20 kernels.

Windham finishes off the bowl, then puts his little fingers together to sign, "more please."
