I guess most of you have seen some of my amateur strobing works in my previous posts.
In those shots, I used my
580EXII as my main flash unit outdoors, with a set of cheap but reliable wireless flash trigger.
But recently, I had bought a
Nissin DI622 flash which I had planned to use as my slave flash together with the
580EXII.
I seldom use it even after weeks of buying it, 'cos I find it difficult to 'trust' another flash, other than the
580EXII.
But on Saturday, I left the
580EXII at home and tried to use the
DI622 instead for my cousin's wedding/solemnization ceremony & I was pleasantly surprised by the results!
So I tried to do some off-camera shots of my instant model (that's my wife actually...) with it.
And here's the best part:
I DONT NEED A WIRELESS FLASH TRIGGER!
It is triggered by the in-built flash, which I had set the flash compensation to minimum.
(Ok
Nikon users, I've heard about your
Creative Lighting System & I know you can already do that with your SB flash units, so stop bragging about it!)
The other thing I love about flash is the cost. The
Nissin DI622 costs about 3/8 of the price of my
580EXII but it works just fine for me, and I think I'll be using more of it...
