Memorial Day Rememberances

2008.05.26
My mother's brother who drowned during WWII

My mother's Aunt and Uncle who died during the Spanish influenza outbreak in 1918

My daddy's grave stone. June 5 makes 28 years that my father will be gone.

My mother's parents, my grandparents.

I went to the cemetary where all of my relatives are buried to be with my Mom during the celebration of Catholic Mass. We then walked around to all of the gravesites and placed flags out. Mom wanted pictures of all the headstones so I know what they look like and where they are for after she is gone (as she says)

DancingDolphin That's actually a really good idea... so much history is lost when the older generations pass on.

TheCrazyCroat Great idea. Nice shots too. I love cemetery shots and I swear I'm not a morbid or dark person. Something about them I find so peaceful. Only one time did I see some that were unnerving and sad beyond belief.

Liselaime Nice shots. We used to visit my grandfather's grave every Memorial Day when I lived in Florida--now it's across the country, so I can't (he was a WWII fighter pilot). It's nice that you still honor your family. :)
