Snow Storm! This particular scene was just WILD today!

I think that this is my first black and white on here, is that right? Well, although I'm a very color oriented person, I do enjoy a nice gritty b&w every once in a while.
_________________________________________________

As the adventures of Nick and Bree continue, we found ourselves in a new area of Glendale today.

We happened onto a side street somewhere along the way, where low and behold, there was a pile of snow. SNOW! In LA?! It was wonderous. I of course had to snap as many pictures as I could, out the window, without holding up traffic, heh. This is what I came up with.

Seriously. Snow.

Anyway, we figure there was either a movie set around with a demand for snow, and some pranksters absconded with a truckload, or someone had recently driven down from the mountains and left a little piece of them behind. It was pretty warm out today though, about 63 fahrenheit, so I don't know how it could've gotten there and stuck around.

I'm actually surprised that the area wasn't cordoned off due to potential passage problems that it could've caused for fellow unsuspecting drivers ~_^

Always exciting around here. Untin tomorrow.

Cheers.

focussed Yup, have to agree...i love color but sometimes the b&w urge takes a hold....I have a similar preference for the grimy, gritty, b&W shot...surprise surprise ;)
This seems like a very random & bizarre occurrence! Id liken it to finding a clump of snow in Melbourne. Just wouldn't happen. Very strange indeed. Having driven from the mountains with snow on the roof of the car, I can tell you this isnt a likely possibility. It usually doesn't stay on there for very long once you've come down. Lucky that you just happened to be in the right place at the right time to document this for the world! Its a great shot too btw. Especially considering it was a rushed out the window photo.

telam Great entry, Brianna! I'll have to show this picture to my cousins that live in Long Beach, LA, and Palm Springs. Their all Michiganders that miss the snow!

mandylouwho What a great snow shot - not too much (unlike mine :-). Love the black and white, good choice.
