The Lacaille 8760 Affair:: Day 35

Today was a glorious day of sloth and lethargy, which while possibly redundant, is so meant for poignancy. I got up at the crack of 10:30am, sat around all morning until around 1:00pm and then finally collected myself into the shower.

All day long Nick and I would periodically look at eachother and wistfully ask what we should do this afternoon, eventually turning into evening, and finally managing a move toward the door. Around 6:00pm, with a tardy masterplan, we left for dinner in Glendale.

This place PALES in comparison to Duffs in Buffalo, NY, but they have what I would consider, the next best chicken wings. Nick thinks that the atmosphere is like a 'beat Tully's' which I would have to agree, but it's really not that bad. It's hard to find a good chicken wing, so I think we'll stick with this place when the urge strikes.

After finishing up at the Hot Wings Cafe, we headed into Burbank for a leisurely stroll though Ikea. My cube at work is pretty unsightly, so I bought a few little things to spice it up. I found some fabulously colorful fabric that was super cheap, so I'll have to take some pictures of whatever I end up doing with it.

After Ikea, we went to Urban Outfitters where I proceeded to drool all over their colorful collection of owl related paraphernalia. Someday, I will own every piece. Lastly, we went to the One Dollar Bookstore, where to my horror, I had to limit myself to just four books. However, one of them was SO good, that it made up for the 5th I gave up in it's place.

I am a huge thesaurus fan and today I happened upon this one entitled "Kind Words:: A Thesaurus of Euphemisms". How could anyone not want this book!! It certainly has a safe home with me.

Tomorrow, we head to Home Depot to find me some plants for my cube. It will assuredly be an exciting time.

Until then.

Cheers.

focussed Well someone's certainly been the queen of shopping lately young lady!!!......
I realy like the photo..It tells me alot about the place.....Just by looking at the sign I can say that it looks like the kinda place that is open all night long. When you crawl out of a bar at 4am and are looking for snack, just head on over to Hot Wings Cafe and dine amongst table fulls of other rowdy drunks....am I right?.(just tell me I'm right even if I'm not or you'll destroy the image I have in my head)
PS. im addicted to Ikea..*hangs head in shame*..although it has been months since my last purchase there so I could be recovering.

ambersunsets You sound like a girl after my own heart. First of all, I am soooo jealous you have access to an ikea store, as I have to drive to Atlanta. Second, I own so many books with quotes, and I love a good...ahem...enlightening thesaurus. I will definitely check out your recommendation.
Thirdly, I'm not big on the wings, but Kevin sure is. He has created quite a few saucy concoctions that I'm always hesitant to taste.
Last of all, I'm glad you had a relaxing Saturday. I've been pretty lazy myself, but now my kids are crying the need clean clothes. Where have I gone wrong? I'm sure I washed my own clothes when I was a teenager!!

Enough of my rambling. Enjoy your Sunday, and I can't wait to see what your creative gene produces with that cloth!

Peche Omg I LOVE thesaurus!! (what's the plural? :P hehe)
Great set, and great words. I loved Andrea's comment there, the bit about the drunks and rolling into that place at 4am... I can just picture it! Is it true? :)

veganess A $1 bookstore? I'd be in heaven!! I join those "book of the month" clubs, just to get the first 6 free, by my mandatory 4, then cancel, only to be invited to join again (which I do for the freebies). I love books.
