The Lacaille 8760 Affair:: Day 69

2008.03.28

Another fun filled day! Nick, Jesse and I went to the La Brea Tar Pits this morning for a nice walk around the smelly grounds followed by a boney museum adventure. It was definitely worth the $7 admission fee to tie together the concept of the tar pits outside, to the visual of the bones that they have excavated over the years from animals that have been trapped to their tar-y deaths.

Afterwards we checked out a new resturant called Koo Koo Roo and were plesantly surprised by their good prices and excellent chicken meals. It's definitely a place the Nick and I will hit up again when the chicken mood strikes.

We met up with my parents in the early afternoon to head over to Warner Brothers Studio for our VIP tour. Although I didn't expect much from this, it turned out to be a really great time. It's so interesting to see the backlot sets that are used over and over again throughout totally different eras of film, simply dressed up differently and shot at fancy angles to look like a whole new world. Our tour guide definitely made the whole tour and I think that it wouldn't have been nearly as interesting without his personality and wealth of information.

After the tour we did a little bit of last minute shopping for gifts for the fam at a shopping area called The Grove. Although it's a bit like a ritzy outdoor mall, the Farmer's Market is also attached which was full of cheap wonders.

To wrap up the night we all settled in on my couch back at the apartment for a nice yummy slice of raspberry tart. I think that we're all tuckered out from such an eventful week. It's sad that they are leaving tomorrow but ultimately I don't think I can keep this level of going and going energy much longer!

As it is since I don't have my own computer anymore, I haven't even been able to keep up with my photoblog cronies all week!! It's going to have to be a weekend of catching up, but on the computer and on sleep!

Hope everyone had an excellent week like I did.

Until tomorrow...

Cheers!
