The Lacaille 8760 Affair:: Day 70

2008.03.29

My family departed today around noon. No more wild adventures for a while! It was excellent to have them here and it's going to be hard to get back into the swing of thing come Monday morning.

We went out for coffee and pastries this morning at Nick and my favorite coffee shop, Sabor y Cultura, and then we said our goodbyes to the Villa and to eachother.

Now I get to look forward to seeing them and my friends again in June/July when Nick and I fly out for our one week visit.
_________________________________________________

As for the rest of my day, Nick and I were complete bums. We watched a bunch of shows and movies and all I managed to take pictures of was this beautiful Gerbera plant that mom bought us last night at Trader Joe's.

Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend.

Cheers.

veganess Very very pretty. I love the colors and the shadows. It's always nice when company leaves, yet at the same time, it always leaves me with a sad, empty feeling. Kind of like a homesick feeling.

Peche That you managed to take photos of anything today is a feat within itself B!! hehehehe
Lovely gerberas - the colours are great, nice dynamic feel to it. And good light too :) Are they in a window sill?
How exciting you have the trip to NY to look forward to. Makes the departure today of your family seem a little lessened as you'll be together again soon.
Rest up, and have a fantastic rest of the weekend with Nick.

focussed wow...what a wonderful , exciting and action packed week your family must have had with you...I bet your sad to be leaving that beautiful house too!! I find it so hard when you have been around family and friends 24/7 for a period of time, to then go back to every day life......i found it especially hard after our wedding. so much excitement and build up and energy and then once its all over you feel a little flat.Wont take you long to et back nto the sing of things though..when does Nick start work?
As for the shot, the contrast of pink and green is gorgeous...

ambersunsets I know its hard to watch your family leave and get back to a normal routine, but you have documented some memorable treasures through pictures and thoughts. Really, June/July is not too far away, and we all need something to look forward to.
Great shot! One of my very favorite flowers!
