The Lacaille 8760 Affair:: Day 88

2008.04.16
this little guy was my tour guide. we even waited for me if i stopped for pictures!

dead things can be beautiful too!

you've got to love these shaggy palms. so wild.

almost looks like a chili pepper tree!

i died over this natural light and the way it highlighted the perfect spot on this tree.

For those of you who care to know what was up last night, check out my Day 87 Supplement Blog!!

Today I had my Microsoft Excel Level 2 class at the Wilshire Center. The other days that I've gone to class here, Nick has been able to drive me down and pick me up after so that I don't have to park 800 miles away and walk back and forth. Alas, Nick had to work today so guess who got a good lot of excercise!

On my 2 miles hike back to the car at the end of class, I stumbled upon the Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Gardens on the other end of campus. I had heard that there was a garden around but I never knew quite where, but I happened to look up at just the right moment and catch the entrance sign! So I stopped in for a peak.

There are crazy unmarked trails that spur off in every direction, so I picked one and tried to head in the direction that I thought would be most accuartely taking me toward my destination. However, silly me, after getting turned around many times, while relying on this squirrel as my only tour guide, I got pretty lost. Not only was a lost, but once I reached what I thought would be "the end", it turned out to really just be "the end" and there was no door leading out. I had really hoped I could just walk straight thourgh and that it would be only a scenic byway, if you will. I considered momentarily the possibility of scaling the fence, however, I ended up having to totally turn around and head back to the way I came in, setting me back a good 45 minutes.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I'm glad that I know where it is for when I get my new camera and actually have time to take some decent shots in there ~_^

Okay. My brain officially needs to go into hibernation mode now.

But not until we all give my best friend Kat big electronic birthday hugs from across the world!!! Love you Katty! I hope you had a fantastic birthday today!!!!

Until tomorrow ~_~

Cheers.

Breezer.

ambersunsets Funny story. Sounds like something I would do. I am so directionally challenged. Next time....go ahead....climb that fence!
