These are fantastic shots. 4, 23, and 27 are my fav's. I am so happy to hear that you ended up enjoying the ballet! Makes me feel much better about your evening prior. Well, now you know....and knowing is half the battle. (At least that's what G.I. Joe says.) No more drives without pavement. Makes me nervous. :)

Well, first thing I have to say, is that there is an establishment in Melbourne city called the Crazy Horse, and it doesn't food, let me tell you! ;) hehehe So glad that you found an alternative route home :) And glad that your weekend got better. The Firebird is a beautiful ballet, I've heard, and I am infinitely jealous of you for having seen it :) But I agree with you on the music front: that part of it would have indeed been disappointing. At least the dancing made up for it. As for your photos, you are just getting better and better every post I see... I think all of the shots in this set are really well done, but, to reserve space for other people's comments, I'll keep it brief :P I really love the composition and lines in the second - spot on! That should would also look really interesting in sepia, I feel. And the last shot is superb: dof, light, shadows and tones all perfect. Added to faves. xoxoxoxo

I must admit that, although I (pardon-the-pun) breezed through your fine photos, I was more intent on your excellent writing and fascinating narrative. You attended a concert with recorded music? Do you write for a living, might I ask? I do admire you last image for texture and composition, and that evocative feeling of California with stucco, tiles, and climbing greenery -- forgotten the name, but I can almost smell it. Well done!

Great set. The fourth photo is absolutely stunning. I certainly understand your disappointment in finding the music recorded. I'm sure you were tempted to go to management and ask them if they had any idea of the kind of hell you went through to get there!
